Summary

An EESC opinion recognizes platform cooperatives’ potential to implement decent work and democratic governance in the platform economy. It recognizes platform cooperatives’ potential to improve working conditions by ensuring stable employment relationships, and to support inclusive participation in digital platforms’ governance by fostering their collective ownership. CECOP urges EU institutions to consider this opinion in determining their upcoming support for platform cooperatives’ development.
