About This Town Hall: Meet a group of entrepreneurial platform co-op founders presenting on enterprises that range in maturity, from emerging to well-established. They hail from as far as Turkey, Belgium, Finland, Spain, and Indonesia. The focus of the discussion is the governance of geographically dispersed independent contractors. Aggregating members and workers on a platform comes with unique opportunities for increasing participation and potentially also for distributed decision making.
Novita Puspasari is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman in Indonesia. She is the Head of the Co-operative and SMEs Innovation Hub at the campus, sits on the executive committee of the Indonesian Consortium for Co-operative Innovation (ICCI), and serves as a Research Coordinator at Kopkun Institute. She is also on the Supervisory Board of Kopkun Indonesia, a consumer cooperative in Indonesia. Currently, she is working on developing an innovative ecosystem for Indonesian cooperatives by serving as a staff-member for the Indonesian Ministry of National Planning. In this work, Novita is developing a National Middle Term Plan 2020-2024 for the cooperative sector, conducting research with the Indonesian Ministry of Cooperative and Small Medium Enterprises, and mainstreaming innovation in local cooperative communities.
