New Co-operativism and the FairShares Model

Summary

Below, we reproduce an article by Dr Rory Ridley-Duff in STIR Magazine that discussed the links between FairShares, ‘old co‑operativism’ and ‘new co-operativism’. It positions the FairShares Model as part of the latter. In the article, he refers to the influence of four important cases (which would be at FairShares Level 2 against our auditing standards). Study of these cases catalysed the formation of the FairShares Association and led to the formalisation of the FairShares Model.
