Summary

Jeremy Corbyn has launched a series of plans for “digital democracy” – proposals he hopes will revolutionise internet use and better serve voters, as part of his bid to remain Labour leader.

Corbyn, whose position has been challenged by Owen Smith, will use “digital technology to mobilise the most visible General Election campaign ever” if he wins his campaign.

His Digital Democracy manifestoincludes plans to create online passports allowing people to have access to a “secure and portable identity” for their online activities, a digital bill of rights and platform cooperatives.
